What to Expect
The first visit is usually short and simple. We’ll focus on getting to know your child. Dr. Waschak will perform a complete, age-appropriate cleaning and dental exam, checking your child’s teeth for placement and health and will look for any potential problems with the gums and jaw. We’ll also answer any questions you have about how to care for your child’s teeth as they develop.
Preparing for the First Visit
The best preparation for your child’s first visit to our office is maintaining a positive attitude and relax! Children pick up on adults’ apprehensions and if you make negative comments about trips to the dentist, you can be sure that your child will fear an unpleasant experience and act accordinglty.
Show your child the pictures of our office staff. Remember that because Dr. Waschak is a pediatric dentist, he is specially trained to handle fears and anxiety, and he and our staff excel at putting children at ease during treatment.
